Random musings

The USA baseball team won their first game in the World Baseball Classic today, defeating Mexico 2-0. D-Lee of the Chicago Cubs hit a solo home-run.

Today was the second day of softball practice. We made cuts and finalized the varsity and JV rosters. Luckily I wasn't the one who had to make the cuts, I can't stand whimpering. After practice I had to jump start one of the JV player's car because she left her lights on. She's lucky we already made cuts, because I would've cut her for making me go way out in the cold parking lot. Fortunately for me, I was able to figure out how to hook up the jumper cables and get her car started.

All the other teams in church league softball should be very worried. I've already started preparing for the season. I've been making the girls throw me batting practice. My personal goal is 10 (Ron Santo's jersey number) dingers this year. I've hit 8 each of the last two years.

And finally, is anyone surprised by this?

I'm not surprised by it. It sounds like a pretty good "how to" so that you can get those 10 HR's this year.
