Cubs deal Hairston

The Cubs added a player that they say will add some much needed power to the lineup. They dealt Jerry Hairston, Jr to the Rangers for Phil Nevin. Phil has hit nine homers and drove in 31 runs, but is currently hitting a paltry .216. The nine homers are misleading considering that seven of them came before April 26th. I wouldn't consider someone who has hit just two homers in the last month a power hitter. The only positive aspect of this trade is that Todd Walker can move back to second base and Neifi can move back to the bench where he belongs. Actually Neifi belongs on the MLB retirement list, but the bench will have to do for now.

The Cubs are as solid of a team as your new house's roof and are as likely to go down in flames your wiring.
