Cubs down Pirates
The Cubs defeated the Pirates 5-4 in 10 innings tonight. LaTroy Hawkins came into the game in the 9th to blow yet another save. Patterson scored the eventual winning run in the 10th on a wild pitch with 2 outs. Corey led off the inning with a ground rule double. Neifi Perez sacrificed him to third and the Pirates then intentionally walked Aramis Ramirez, who had already homered once. Alou struck out swinging and then Solomon Torres threw a wild pitch with Derek Lee at the plate allowing Patterson to score from third. Dempster came on in the bottom of the 10th to pick up the save. Anyone else think Dusty should move Hawkins back to a setup role and give Dempster a shot at closing? The Cubs record is now 84-66.
