New feature

Actually it's not entirely new I used to do this on my Xanga site, however, that is now defunct. So I will now be starting up a semi-regular feature on this blog called "Reasons why I am glad I am not a nurse". These reasons will be taken from stories told by my wife.

Reason 1: I don't have to help a doctor lance Hemorrhoids on some random man's butt. I also don't have to "dress" the wound after the 'roids have been taken care of.

FYI: I thought about putting up a picture like I normally do for my posts, but I decided against it.

Briggs' car found abandoned in Chicago

Police are reporting that Lance Briggs' $350K Lamborghini was found empty and wrecked on the Edens Expressway this morning around 3:15. The car wasn't reported stolen and it is unclear who was driving at the time of the accident.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Tank Johnson was involved in some way. Ok, he probably wasn't, but I'd rather have Tank get in trouble than Briggs at the moment.

About frickin' time

Today we went down to Huntington University to drop off Kenny (Angie's brother). Erv and Angie wanted to head over to Fort Wayne to stop at Sonic for some tots and cheese, but we couldn't find it.

Our inability to find Maplecrest Road gave me the opportunity to eat at Frickers! I've been wanting to eat at Frickers ever since Big Jim and family went there the weekend of Blair's wedding while I was at the mall. I had the Frickin Chicken sandwich, which wasn't that great. However, I had a taste of Erv's burger and that was delicious.

Next time I'm at Frickers I'll have to forget the Frickin Chicken and go with a burger.

Cubs claim Pods off waivers

Looks like the Cubs have claimed Scott Podsednik off waivers today. The Cubs and White Sox now have two business days to work out a trade. The White Sox could also let him go to the Cubs for nothing or pull him back off waivers.

Coco Crisp gets ran down by Mariner Moose

UPDATE: The moose will not be punished for almost making road kill out of Coco Crisp.

From the news...I love the reaction of the coach in the dugout.

"I like turtles"

You haven't heard about this kid, you will soon enough. I'm not sure what turtles have to do with anything but it is HILARIOUS.

Cubs move into 1st place

The Cubs tied the Brewers for first place in the NL Central last night by downing the Phillies, 5-4.

This is the latest in the season that the Cubs have been in first place since 2003 when they won the World Series lost to the Florida Marlins in the National League Championship Series.

Filipino inmates recreate Thriller

How long until the Undersheriff has her inmates performing choreographed dances? Hopefully not very long!

Also, the "female" in this video is mildly disconcerting so considered yourself warned.

Bears offense grabbing headlines

This training camp it is the Bears offense, not the defense getting all the attention. John Clayton wrote a great article outlining the new and improved Bears offense.

The focus of the story is Devin Hester moving to wide receiver and the outstanding play of rookie tight end Greg Olson (pictured).

I just hope that Lovie figure out soon that the key to taking the offense to the next level is getting Kyle Orton in as the starting QB.

UPDATE: Orton is getting closer to the starting lineup! I saw on CSN that Orton practiced with the second team offense today.
