My FBC team dropped both games of the doubleheader tonight. I was 7-for-8 with a dinger to the opposite field. Adam was also 7-for-8, but he didn't have anything close to a home run. I don't know anyone else's stats because they have more important things to do during the game than keep track of church league stats. Erv came close to getting his meter up on this blog when he ripped one off the fence.
My softball team picked up wins number three and four over the past couple days. They dominated ECA 10-2 on Saturday and nipped Goshen 6-2 tonight. Our record stands at 4-9 (2-4 NLC). I'm now 15 wins away from reaching the John Wooden of NW Softball.
You are never going to believe this...Mark Prior is out for the year. Prior underwent a right shoulder arthroscopy performed by James Andrews today. The procedure included a clean-up of his right rotator cuff and a repair of the shoulder capsules and right labrum. Some are saying that Prior's career as a Cub is over.
The team picked up the second win of the season tonight against Wawasee. We won 3-2 in 10 innings. I only need 17 more by the end of the 2009 season to tie the John Wooden of NW Softball.
The best part of the night came on the bus ride home when one of the JV girls asked if she could wear a cup to the next game. I replied, "I don't see why not."
My team fell to 1-4 after losing to Concord, 13-0. The game wasn't nearly as bad as the score makes it look. It was only 6-0 after the 5th inning and a three error 3rd inning helped give them those six runs. I feel bad for our pitcher because she pitched pretty good. It's hard to win when the defense commits EIGHT errors. Eight errors has to be some kind of record.
UPDATE: Read about the debacle here. I'm quoted towards the end of the article.
