Purdue receiver Selwyn Lymon is in critical condition after being stabbed in the upper chest early this morning outside a West Lafayette nightclub.
The Dynasty Begins...
I picked up my first career victory last night as NW downed Lakeland, 6-2. Since I'm the coach, I decided to give myself the game ball in honor of my first win. Who cares if two girls on the team hit their first career home-runs? Ok, I gave them each their home-run ball too. Just don't tell the Athletic Director.

Kramer going under the knife
Purdue's outstanding freshman guard, Chris Kramer, will be undergoing surgery on his shins tomorrow. Kramer is suffering from compartmental syndrome, which is what plagued a few Boiler football players recently. Hopefully the athletic trainers at Purdue can figure out something to prevent this from continuing to happen. I'll talk to Mr. Widner tonight and see if he has any tips that could help out his Purdue brethren.

La Russa still celebrating
Tony La Russa must still be celebrating that World Series victory. He was arrested early this morning for drunken driving when police found him asleep inside his still running SUV at a stop light. Actually, he may have been drinking because he knows just how bad the Cardinals are going to be this season.

Softball preview
The Truth's softball preview was in today's paper. Read it here.
Here are our two logos for this season. Our hats are supposed to come in tomorrow. I'm sure everyone will want one, so I'll put a picture on here tomorrow evening.

Random clip
I was checking YouTube for a clip of Adam Greenberg getting hit by the pitch I mentioned in the post below and I found this jem. Watch the dog bone nail that little kid right in the head. HILARIOUS.
Remember Adam Greenberg?
ESPN.com has a good story on what has happened to Adam Greenberg since he got drilled in the head during his first Major League at bat. Greenberg asked the Cubs to release him in June 2006 and he is now trying to make a comeback in the Royals organization.

Leeroy Jenkins!
I don't remember how I first heard of this clip, but it is one of my favorites. I hesitated to put it on my blog because this is a family blog and there is some salty language in the video. Luckily for you, I've downloaded the video and bleeped out the naughty words. I've never played World of Warcraft, but I know my brother has. Hey Ben, is this how you and your nerdy friends sound when you're playing online games?
Boilers advance to the round of 32
UPDATE: Kramer's shot from the free throw line is now on YouTube. However, CBS is who put it up and they have disabled embedding so you'll have to click here to watch it.
The Boilers dominated the Arizona Wildcats tonight, 72-63. Those are the same Arizona Wildcats that Dicky V said would cause Florida problems on Sunday night. I guess Dicky forgot that the Wildcats had to beat the Boilers before they could play Florida.
My man crush, Chris Kramer, shot 70% from the field and ended up with 16 points. Kramer wowed the announcers tonight when he sank a shot from the free throw line. I know that doesn't sound that great, but he was on both knees when he shot it. Hopefully that shot makes it up on YouTube sometime soon. Until it does, let his slam against Illinois wash over you.

Sammy makes Rangers' 40-man roster
Looks like Sammy will once again be playing in the Majors. The Rangers have decided to add him to the 40-man roster and according to this article, the addition of Sosa to the roster almost assures his spot on the 25-man roster for Opening Day. The Cubs travel to Texas to take on Sammy and the Rangers June 19-21.
Tank headed to the pokey
Tank Johnson was sentenced to four months in jail today for violating his probation. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that his sentence ends right in time for mini camp.
It's been awhile
I've been slacking when it comes to posting lately and I apologize to all four of my readers. I've been pretty busy now that softball has officially started. In addition to regular practices, I've had to organize our fund raiser, clothing orders, and get the girls registered for summer league. I also just finished up another Mattern PC for a fellow coach at NW. I'll be sure you keep you all updated on the happenings of the softball season. I'm fairly confident that we can improve upon our 3-20 record from last year.
By the way, I really have no idea what the guy in the picture has to do with softball. I did a Google image search for fastpitch softball and he was the most eye catching thing I could find.

Purdue picks up 20th victory
David Teague lead the Boilers to a 73-50 victory over Northwestern today in the final home game of his career. Teague finished with 23 points and Carl Landry notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Purdue ended the regular season with a 20-10 (9-7 Big Ten) record.
