I think he'll miss a little time recovering from this one and by "little time" I mean the rest of his career. UPDATE: Livingston tore his ACL, MCL, PCL, and dislocated his knee cap.
A few of the faculty members at work think that this commercial accurately depicts my day at work so we are going to film our own version of it for EOTP. However, I don't think we'll ever top our version of the Nextel Dance Party commercial.
Purdue athletes have had their fair share of legal problems, but at least they haven't left a teammate for dead in a car. That picture on the right is supposedly the car from the crash, but I can't see how Jamar Smith would have been able to drive it after the accident. According to this columnist for the Sun Times, Bruce Weber could be on his way out as head basketball coach.
Purdue finally got a big win after several near misses this season by downing IU, 81-68. David Teague (pictured) stepped up in a huge way scoring a career-high 32 points including six three-pointers. Carl Landry was right behind Teague with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Purdue is now 17-9 overall and 6-6 in the Big Ten.
Carlos Zambrano said yesterday during an interview with WGN-Channel 9 that he will be leaving the Cubs after this season unless they sign him to an extension before Opening Day.
Zambrano said, "If they don't sign me, sorry, but I must go. That's what Carlos Zambrano thinks."
I'd be sad to see him go especially since he's starting to refer to himself in the third-person. I think I'm going to refer to myself in the third-person during all those interviews I'll be getting during softball season.
I love the Bears just as much as the next person, but I would never make a bet like the Bears fan did in this story. I'd rather lose a finger or an ear than legally change my name to Peyton Manning.
In all my excitement for the Super Bowl, I forgot to post about the Boilers first Big Ten road victory since Feb. 21, 2004. Yes, that's right, 2004. Purdue defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions 69-59 in State College, PA on Saturday. Once again, Carl Landry carried the Boilers on his back with 26 points. I can't imagine how bad Purdue basketball would have been the last few years without Landry. The Boilers' record now stands at 15-8 (4-5 in Big Ten play).
These are two of my favorite Super Bowl commercials from last night. It is no coincidence that they both aired during the first quarter. I have managed to remove everything after the first quarter from my brain. I think it is some kind of coping mechanism. As far as I am concerned, the Bears won 14-6 and Devin Hester was the MVP.
